The leading manufacturers of assembly systems have decided to develop an OPC UA Companion Specification (CS) for joining technologies with the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association.
The German robotics and automation sector cannot escape the economic slowdown in the mechanical engineering industry: For 2019, the industry expects sales to fall by 5 percent to 14.3 billion euros.
Frank Notz (left in the picture) stepped down from the Executive Board of VDMA Integrated Assembly Solutions. Jochen Seidler and Jörg Kipper joined the board as its new members.
All-inclusive Fair Package for your participation
The VDMA Robotics Automation Association invites interested members to an exchange on the subject of "successfully carrying out machine vision projects".
We cordially invite you to this year's Integrated Assembly Solutions (IAS) members' assembly on Thursday, September 12, at ZF in Saarbrücken.

Successful OPC UA kick-off with screwdriving technology manufacturers and exchange of experience "Virtual Commissioning and Digital Twin".
After the successful exhibition at automatica 2018, the R+A OPC UA Demonstrator has reached its new home at the Institute of Industrial Information Technology (inIT) at the University of Lemgo.
An IAS member survey showed that more than 70% of respondents rated the topic of "virtual representation and digital twins" as very important. We have therefore decided to organise a first exchange of experience and information on this subject.
The turnover of the manufacturers of components and systems for assembly and handling technology from Germany last year rose by 9 percent to a total of 8.3 billion euros and thus grew for the fifth time consecutively.
The 12th VDMA Robotics + Automation China Management Meeting will take place on 19 March 2019 in the Shanghai area!
The VDMA Robotics + Automation OPC UA Demonstrator premiered at automatica 2018 and immediately caused a sensation. Now there is the opportunity to experience the unique demonstrator again live from 25 to 27 February 2019 at the Festo InspireAutomationCamp in Esslingen.
The OPC UA Initiative End-of-Arm Tools (EoAT) was founded at the beginning of 2019 and has set itself the goal of describing tools that can (but not exclusively), for example, be used as end effectors on a robot in the form of an OPC UA information model.
A huge number of visitors at our demonstrator stand. The two use cases "Skill-based control" and "Condition Monitoring" were well-received.
At its ordinary meeting, the Main Board of the VDMA elected Henrik Schunk (on the left, next to VDMA President Carl Martin Welcker and VDMA Vice President Karl Haeusgen), a family entrepreneur, as Vice President of the association.
automatica 2018 (June 19 to 22) sets new records: more than 46,000 visitors (+ seven percent) and 890 exhibitors (+ seven percent).
In the smart factory of the future, machines must speak the same language. The decisive factor here is the standardization of communication interfaces.
automatica – the leading exhibition for smart automation and robotics in Munich - opens its doors on June 19 and promises to break all records. Our team is strongly involved! Here comes our Highlights Guide:
The VDMA Shanghai Representative Office invites to our high-level B2B event.
automatica is the leading European innovation platform for the automation of production. It presents the world`s largest range of robotics, assembly solutions and innovation platform for automation solutions. The fair will take place from 19 to 22 June 2018 in Munich, Germany.
VDMA Robotics + Automation is creating the basis for interoperable communication in the smart factory of tomorrow using OPC UA.
• Interoperable, vendor-independent and skill-based • Developed together with 26 partners • Industry 4.0 becomes reality
Interoperable, vendor-independent, capability-based
The Integrated Assembly Solutions (IAS) has agreed to implement the vision of industry 4.0, i.e. all participants and assets (machines, plants, workpieces, etc.) in the company communicate with each other, into reality. But it's still a rocky road until then.
We are happy to welcome Frank Notz as a new board member of VDMA Integrated Assembly Solutions.
