With over 150 members, the Integrated Assembly Solutions (IAS) department represents the assembly and handling technology industry. From turbochargers to electric toothbrushes, almost all objects consisting of many individual parts are mounted on complex special machines. Read more.
An IAS member survey showed that more than 70% of respondents rated the topic of "virtual representation and digital twins" as very important. We have therefore decided to organise a first exchange of experience and information on this subject.
The turnover of the manufacturers of components and systems for assembly and handling technology from Germany last year rose by 9 percent to a total of 8.3 billion euros and thus grew for the fifth time consecutively.

The OPC UA Initiative End-of-Arm Tools (EoAT) was founded at the beginning of 2019 and has set itself the goal of describing tools that can (but not exclusively), for example, be used as end effectors on a robot in the form of an OPC UA information model.
